SoFi Arena may be turning up empty in its quote to host the World Cup ending in 2026 … and it’s all ’cause its field might be considered too narrow for FIFA’s taste.

Seriously.

According to a report from The Times, the pitch at SoFi in Los Angeles is not presently broad enough for FIFA. The outlet reports, the structure would have to increase its field by up to 63 feet to satisfy the soccer org.’s requirement.

The arena would need to get a few of its seats in order to make that occur– however FIFA supposedly would have a concern with that too … since SoFi, which seats 70,240, is currently having a hard time to fulfill the 80 K World Cup last minimum.

MetLife Arena in New Jersey and AT&T Arena in Dallas are now thought about the front-runners for the tourney’s champion if SoFi can’t find out a method to fix the problems.

The 2022 World Cup Final in between Argentina and France was dipped into Lusail Arena in Qatar– and set a record for presence … with 88,966 soccer fans loading into the place to see Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe go toe-to-toe.

The United States, Mexico and Canada will all host the 2026 competition.
